Animal Crossing

I looked at my “official” blog today, and it’s not been updated since forever. I can’t help but wonder how it’d be if I wasn’t cowardly.

There’s a trick on the original Animal Crossing where, if you had a GameBoy connector, you could play as the Kappa on the island. You’d run around along the beach waiting for a boat to pop up, and then the rest loads in-memory into your GameBoy. The engineers must’ve found that satisfying.

There’s a vitriolic outline on how to ask questions in an engineering context, actually. That you’re just wasting everyone’s time unless you really learn how to exhaust all options. But I can’t help and wonder how some of those so renowned wouldn’t mind walking some through all the tribulations. It takes thousands of hours to get a comfortable config, only to discard it.

It’s been a few days since I’ve read any news, or other blogs, and it feels as though I’m in that GameBoy Animal Crossing game. It’s quite barebones. Coconut palm trees, pixelated waves and waddling around. It is in this silence that makes you laugh about wasting time, whether through inane questions or otherwise. You have all the time in the world to waste.

This is the best I can do.
